Meet Marina Shiferman
I had the fortune of being interviewed for ShoutoutLA. Here is the article
We had the good fortune of connecting with Marina Shiferman and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Marina, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I have been a realtor for the past 10 years. I have helped thousands of first time homebuyers on their journey and the one thing they all have in common is they have absolutely no idea what they are doing, they are overwhelmed and stressed, they dont even really fully understand the ideas and concepts of it.
I found that I was spending time teaching them how to be good buyers for their lives before we got to the specific market and transaction, which of course is not the job of a realtor.
During the years I became a buyer and seller and was noticing women missing out on the opportunities that real estate provides because they were not educated on it so they shied away from it.
I realized that I was missing the women community aspect of real estate, the women empowerment so I created the real estate queen academy to educate and inspire women to buy and own real estate correctly, with ease confidence and sass.
I am so fulfilled by this, seeing women owning their future and education and breaking the stigma that real estate is a mans game.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I got to where I am today by actually loving what I do. I started on the real estate path because I was interested in owning real estate, I loved being a realtor because I love being a leader and doing business my way. I created the academy to bring my knowledge and experience to women so that they are educated and empowered to buy real estate. I am excited everyday to make an impact on womens lives. To make more confident women, women home owners, women millionaires.
The challenge I am facing is bridging the gap of women being interested in learning about real estate and understanding why they need to take this course to learn how to do it correctly. Women cannot just jump into buying and owning with just some realtor to educate them or husband to guide them, its not the 50’s. We are bad ass independent women and we need to learn our shit to have a seat at the table. That is my biggest hurdle. To get women to sign up or even start a dialogue with me about my programs.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well I live in SF so I would do allot in SF. but I would def fly to Miami, New York and spend time in newport beach
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have to give some credit to Monica Yates for giving me the confidence to be myself and the inspiration for the platform for my course. I also must thank Hannah Nieves. Jac Relke from million dollar woman for helping me craft out my ideas.
